Set on the banks of the magnificent Rio Palena, surrounded by the spectacular Andes mountains, Rio Palena Lodge is the ultimate adventure retreat. Located in a largely uninhabited corner of Chilean Patagonia, Rio Palena Lodge offers the ultimate combination of adventure and relaxation. Action-packed days heli-skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, or trout fishing are balanced with opportunities for total relaxation in the wood-fired sauna or hot tub.
Surrounded by the towering, snow-covered peaks of the Andes, Rio Palena Lodge has ideal conditions for heli-skiing. The season runs from mid-September to mid-November with a typical ski day consisting of 6-10 runs. In summer, the region is famous for large, wild, brown and rainbow trout, making it a popular destination for keen anglers.

Patagonia
Rio Palena Lodge is located in a largely uninhabited region of Chilean Patagonia. The easiest way to reach the lodge is by flying privately from Santiago to Palena Airfield. From here it is a 10 minute helicopter charter or 20 minute drive to the lodge. It is also possible to take a commercial flight from Santiago to Puerto Montt, El Tepual Airport, followed by a 1 hour private charter flight to Palena Airfield. Commercial flights are also available from Puerto Montt, La Paloma Airport (a 45 minute ground transfer from Puerto Montt, El Tepual Airport) to Chaitén. From Chaitén it is a 3 hour ground transfer to Rio Palena Lodge.
