Koh Samui

Located 80 km off the eastern coast of Southern Thailand, Koh Samui is the nation’s second largest island and one of its most attractive. Famous for its year-round warm weather, white sandy beaches and clear blue waters, it attracts a variety of holiday seekers.

Young travellers are drawn by the vibrant nightlife and legendary full moon parties whilst adventurers are treated to elephant rides through tropical rainforests. Active explorers will find world-class hiking opportunities in the island’s lush jungles whilst others come just for the sun, sea and sand.

On the northeastern coast of Koh Samui, Chaweng, the most popular resort town, buzzes with activity day and night. Its beach is a long stretch of powder-white sand and clear seas, packed with boutiques, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Sure, it may be crowded and touristy, but it still is the most beautiful strip of shoreline you will find on this island.

Lamai, another bustling resort area on the east coast, comes in a close second in terms of popularity. The vibe is slightly more chilled compared with Chaweng, yet there are plenty of eateries and music bars, as well as numerous souvenir shops selling nice Thai handicrafts. The beach here is long and broad, with an excellent range of water sports.

For fine dining and shopping, head to the Fisherman’s Village in Bophut. This chic enclave of old Chinese buildings in the north of the island, has been converted into quirky boutiques and trendy restaurants. Away from the touristy northern and eastern coasts, you will still be able to get a glimpse of Thailand in all its tropical glory. Steep limestone cliffs, luscious lagoons and perfect sugar-white sands lined with swaying coconut trees can all be enjoyed in the breathtaking Ang Thong Marine National Park, just a 45 min speedboat ride from Koh Samui.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape, an idyllic island getaway or a fun family holiday, anything is possible on this lively, charismatic island. Plus, the luxury villas in Koh Samui are sure to add an extra touch of style and comfort to your vacation.
