The accommodation
Colina Verde, or ‘green hill’ in Portuguese, is a large two-storey villa in a beautiful verdant location nestled amidst the dunes and forests of Machangulo, opposite the Bay of Maputo. A stay here offers you the chance to relax and explore a unique and secluded part of Mozambique, whilst enjoying beautiful views of the Indian Ocean.
Resident managers Graham and Lucy and their team of local staff are always on hand to give expert advice and guidance, whilst the villa’s chef will prepare amazing dishes for you, using as much local produce as possible.
The decor is tasteful, with colours of the sea and the earth in abundance. These natural colour schemes, combined with stunning individual pieces of furniture crafted from local wood, give the villa a truly relaxing and tranquil vibe.

Machangulo
The nearest international airport to Colina Verde is Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. The quickest and most spectacular way to transfer from Maputo is a 15-minute trip by helicopter, landing just a few minutes from the house. Alternatively, you can transfer by light aircraft to Machangulo followed by a 25-minute drive, or take a 75-minute speedboat transfer from Maputo Harbour to Machangulo.
