The accommodation
Åmot offers a gloriously unique Norwegian home-from-home experience, located on a secluded inlet between two rivers and close to fields with horses and sheep roaming freely.
The property itself dates from the early 19th century and has been in the current owner’s family since its construction. The cheery open-plan barn is the central hub with a wonderful kitchen and extensive open space where both local and international musicians come to perform. A small team of Michelin-trained chefs serve delightful farm-to-table dishes wherever possible, with produce from the property’s orchards and kitchen garden featuring strongly, along with crayfish, eel and salmon from the nearby rivers.
Åmot is the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature. Your stay here includes a wide range of activities, so among other things, you can enjoy fishing, hiking, private boat trips, visiting local people and much more. The surrounding scenery is serene and majestic, with steep cliffs, waterfalls, gentle rolling hills and green fields in abundance – a wonderful setting for such an intimate and exclusive retreat.
