Anguilla

A tiny British West Indian island about seven miles north of St. Martin, Anguilla attracts celebrities and elite travellers from all over the world. One of the most relaxed and authentic of the famous Caribbean islands, Anguilla has beautiful beaches, sophisticated dining options and one of the Caribbean’s best live music scenes.

Only 16 miles long and 3 miles wide, the island has no paved roads, yet is big on luxury tourism, with upmarket accommodation, exquisite restaurants and relaxing spas. The architecturally stunning luxury villas in Anguilla are an attraction in their own right, providing a dreamy Caribbean escape for those seeking both serenity and total seclusion.

As well as bright blue skies and splendid sands, Anguilla has plenty of character. Days on the island can be spent swaying in beach hammocks, snorkelling in incandescent bays or swimming with dolphins, whilst nights are filled with music and memorable dining experiences. Shopping is equally idyllic, with interesting boutiques selling locally designed clothing, hand-made jewellery and premium Caribbean rums.

Anguilla’s laid back capital, the Valley, is located in the heart of the island, and is home to art galleries and the famous Wallblake House; the only standing plantation home left on the island. Other points of interest include the Stoney Bay Marine Park – Anguilla’s first underwater heritage site, and the Heritage Museum Collection on the East End, where you can learn about the island’s history.

Anguilla’s peak tourist season runs from December until mid-April, but the island enjoys warm temperatures nearly all the year round.
